Since online dating* is a lot like speed dating* - you have small opportunity to make a good impression and spelling mistakes or wrong word choices can weaken your chances. Here are some tips on how to avoid making mistakes in your profile:
DON’T WRITE WRITE
Looking Frend Looking for a friend
Seeking Compaion Seeking companionship

Make your profile stand out
Your profile should be specific and filled with adjectives* so that your message is descriptive and interesting to the reader.

If you want to talk about travel, be sure to say where or how.
Don’t say -  “I love to travel”
Say - “I loved back-packing through South America”

If you want to talk about your hobbies and interests, be specific.
Don’t say - “I like to read.”
Say - “I like to read horror stories – such as Stephen King”

More Tips
We’ve added more tips here on how to start a conversation with a stranger online, since it can be a little intimidating and how to ask him or her out.
